A seating arrangement problem gives you several clues about how people are positioned relative to each other (in a row, circle, or around a table) and asks you to work out the exact arrangement.
These questions test your ability to hold multiple constraints in mind simultaneously and deduce a unique valid arrangement — or determine that more than one arrangement fits.
Clues: Five friends sit in a row. Priya sits at one end. Raj sits immediately to the right of Priya. Aman sits at the other end.
Approach: Fix Priya at position 1 (one end) and Aman at position 5 (the other end) first, since those are the most restrictive clues. Then place Raj at position 2, immediately right of Priya. The remaining two people fill positions 3 and 4, based on whatever additional clues are given.
